Dell Precision T1650 Workstation Review

This year has seen a revitalized Dell aggressively attacking HP on the enterprise workstation front. While HP has been content to recycle last year's models, Dell has made substantial strides in improving their desktop workstation offerings across the board. We had a chance to check out their T3600 this year and found it to be a demonstratively superior offering to the competing HP Z420, and today we have the T1650, a model that updates the lackluster T1600 with a new chassis and some new hardware. Dell Inspiron 14z Ultrabook Review

Give credit to Intel for recognizing the notebook market needed a swift kick in the pants, and for putting a noose around the necks of netbooks, which have all but been eliminated from the market place. Sure, a few straggling netbooks remain, but by and large, Intel is now heavily invested (both literally and figuratively) in the Ultrabook platform. These thin and light machines represent the natural evolution of laptops, and the form factor continues to evolve right before our eyes, which is something that's underscored by the likes of Dell's Inspiron 14z Ultrabook. Dell PowerEdge R720 Review

Two processors in 2U (2P2U) is the big-selling sweet spot as far as server vendors are concerned, making the PowerEdge R720 from Dell a significant new product. It's also the first PowerEdge to ship with Xeon E5-2600 processors, based on Intel's latest Sandy Bridge EP architecture and the first of Dell's so-called 'twelfth-generation' (12G) PowerEdge servers, which major on enhanced management as well as performance and availability. So, an important new server — with yet another new twist in the guise of two different models to suit different markets. "

Dell UltraSharp U2312HM, 23” Monitor Review

In a marketplace dominated by 24” monitors, 23” models are quickly becoming niche products reserved for people who know exactly what they need and how much they want to spend. The 23” Dell U2312HM hopes to give these buyers precisely what they want. On paper the U2312HM appears to be very similar to its larger brother the U2412M, which we reviewed not all that long ago. It combines a decent IPS panel with a full feature set, good power efficiency, and it offers all of this at a price even more appealing than that of the U2412M. This is the key to why 23” models have attained such a hardcore following. "

Dell Vostro V131 Notebook Review

Tucked away from the prying eyes of most end users on Dell’s website, you’ll find the Vostro lineup of notebooks. These may be geared towards professionals who have higher expectations for quality and functionality but most of the hardware used is identical to what’s included in the mass market Inspirons. Indeed, many who are used to buying from Dell know to go straight to the Vostro and Latitude pages to get the best value for their money. It may sound counterintuitive to push everyday consumers towards professional oriented products but by the end of this review, we’re certain you’ll be paying just a bit more attention to the the Vostro series has to offer. Dell XPS 15z Notebook PC Review

Remember those old ads on TV? It used to be that people would turn to a company like Dell to get an inexpensive laptop that was reasonably reliable and while Dell still has products that lean toward that end of the market, they’ve also got offerings for the higher end of the market too. One such example is the Dell XPS 15z, a premium performance notebook with a huge splash of style. We’ve already shown off the XPS 15z in detail in one of our glorious High Definition Product Overviews. Now it’s time to give it a proper shake down? Is it really the same as its fruit-flavored cousin from Cupertino? Let’s find out. "

Dell S2330MX 23" LED Monitor Review

For many consumers the overall dimension and footprint of their monitor just doesn’t seem to matter but for those of us who are constrained by a limited amount of desktop real estate, size does indeed matter. It just so happens that in order to condense as much hardware into a small space, engineers usually have to look towards innovative designs. We’ve already seen this with smaller high performance notebooks like Dell’s XPS 14z and Sony’s Vaio Z and quite a few of the newer high end LED HDTVs. PC monitors have also received a healthy dose of redesign away from the utilitarian looks of yesteryear and Dell’s new S2330MX is no exception. It strives to offer great looking industrial design while taking up a minimal amount of space on your desk. "

Dell XPS 14z Review

Whether you like them or not, almost everyone agrees that Apple have been consistently creating some of the most beautiful laptop computers for many years. Dell are keen to showcase that they have the engineering prowess to compete with Apple and today we are looking at their XPS 14z, a slim laptop built around a beautiful aluminum/magnesium chassis which fits a 14 inch screen into a 13 inch chassis. Our particular review sample costs £999 inc vat. The machine we are reviewing today has a Core i7 2640M processor, 8GB of DDR3 memory, a slot drive DVD burner and IntelHD/Nvidia GT520M graphics. For a slimline laptop, the specifications are certainly impressive on paper. Our review sample ships with a Western Digital 750GB hard drive, although Solid State options are available at extra cost. Dell Inspiron 14z Review

The Inspiron series isn't renowned for its looks - Dell's XPS range tends to get the best makeovers - but the budget 14z has more flair than you might expect. Available in "Espresso Black" or optional "Fire Red," the laptop expresses a sense of style that defies the budget price. You'll have to pay an extra £10 for the Fire Red model, but if you're looking for something that'll stand out from the crowd, it's money well spent. "
