Asustor AS6404T 4-bay NAS Review

Sitting under Asustor’s Power User to Business banner, the AS6404T 4-bay NAS is powered by an Intel Apollo Lake Celeron processor backed by 8GB of dual-channel memory and supports both USB 3.0 Type -C and HDMI 2.0 ports. Powered by an Intel Celeron J3455 1.5GHz (burst up 2.3GHz) processor, the Asustor AS6404T comes with 8GB of DDR3L 1866MHz dual -channel memory (2 x 4GB modules in the two SO-DIMM slots). Asustor quote performance figures of 219MB/s and 221MB/s for reads and writes respectively for the AS6404T in a RAID 5 array, but that is with both LAN ports in Link Aggregation mode. With a single Gigabit connection the performance is quoted at 104MB/s for reads and 110MB/s for writes.  "

Asustor AS6404T NAS Review

We test the all new Asustor AS6404T NAS, a powerful flagship NAS armed with some very spicy hardware. It is based on a new generation quad-core Apollo Lake Celeron processor. Next to that it has been paired with 8GB dual-channel memory and sure, it has a nearly obnoxious plethora of ASUSTOR features and APPs making this a small server really. The four in that product name means we'll be testing the 4-bay version of this quad-core processor based NAS.  "

Asustor AS3202T Multifunctional 4K Quad-Core NAS

A NAS today is much more than just a place to store your data. In fact, if that is all you need then cloud storage is probably enough for you. No, a NAS today offers a lot more opportunities and features compared to just a dumb storage device. Whether is is to serve as a personal mail server, be the hub for all your security cameras or just a place to store and stream your media files from, a modern NAS should manage it all. The ASUSTOR AS3202T is such a modern NAS. With good hardware, app support and even a HDMI-connector it is a NAS intended for the power user or small office.  "

Asustor AS6202T NAS Review

In this review we test the Asustor AS6208T NAS. The AS6208T is more powerful in the sense that it comes with a much stronger processor, more memory and a plethora of features. The 2 in that product name means we'll be testing the 2-bay version of this quad-core processor based NAS with 4 GB of internal RAM memory. Over the years we have been testing quite a number of Asustor NAS units, and admittedly every single one of the has been exemplary within its product position in the market. A quality build in terms of hardware combined with a very strong and efficient software suite are the two key words here.  The AS6202T as tested today is for the intended ones that that need that little extra in their NAS, a bit more power and a SDRAM buffer on their NAS perhaps for their WEB related hosting which you can manage on this product. So lets us call the AS6202T a pro-sumer and SOHO targeted product.  "

Asustor AS6208T 8-bay NAS

Asustor rolls out new models and lines every now and then. In this review, we will focus on the second top member of the AS62 line, the AS6208T capable of taking up to eight disks for a ton of storage space if you pick appropriate HDDs. This NAS uses an Intel quad-core Braswell CPU, and while it may be weak for a normal PC running Windows, it is just fine for Asustor's custom-tailored Linux operating system, offering good performance and very low energy consumption, which is very important in NAS servers that are run around the clock. The AS6208T is also equipped with a decent amount of RAM, which will allow for it to smoothly execute services in parallel, and with RAID 5, the four Gigabit Ethernet ports are capable of transferring upward of 355 MB/s once teamed, at least according to Asustor. All AS61 and AS62 units feature SoCs that include hardware encryption engines since they are for business environments where data encryption is a necessary feature. NAS servers that don't have built-in encryption engines are sluggish with encrypted files and should be avoided if you plan on storing sensitive data on the server. The AS6208T promises up to 224.71 MB/s read and up to 132.56 MB/s write speeds with encrypted files so long as all four of its Gigabit ports are teamed.  "

Asustor AS3104T 4-bay NAS review

The Asustor AS3104T is a tool free design (cover and drive bays) and is powered by an Intel Celeron N3050 processor – a 14nm dual-core CPU with a clock speed of 1.6GHz (up to 2.16GHz burst) backed by 2GB of DDR3L memory. The memory is soldered to the motherboard so if you feel you need more, you’re out of luck. The hardware acceleration engine supports H.264 (AVC), H.265 (HEVC), MPEG-4 Part 2, MPEG-2 and VC-1 standards. Asustor quote performance figures for the AS3104T in a RAID 5 array as over 112 MB/s for both reads and writes. The encryption engine offers performance figures of over 112MB/s for reads and writes at over 71MB/s when dealing with encrypted data.  "

Asustor AS3104T review

"  In the 2-bay NAS-devices test which we published a while ago, we were impressed by the Asustor AS1002T. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at its 4-bay relatice, the AS3104T, which contains a dual-core Intel Celeron N3050. The Asustor AS3104T, big enough for four drives, looks like a large black cube. On the front of the case, the manufacturer chose to put a diamond pattern, which gives us the impression that the designers had a very decorative, almost “jewellery”-like aesthetic in mind. The plastic lid, on the other hand, looks a little less luxurious.  "

Asustor AS3202T 2-Bay NAS

"  In a recent review, we evaluated the AS3102T with a dual-core Intel Celeron CPU (N3050 Braswell). The AS31 line addresses users without high demands, while the fresh AS32 family is for more demanding home users in need of stronger hardware, which will not only speed up the regular functions of a NAS, but will allow it to more readily cope with high bitrate and resolution multimedia content. Like most Asustor NAS servers, the AS3202T has an HDMI port, which will prove useful in a number of applications since an HDMI port can also be used to locally access the operating system of a NAS with nothing but an additional keyboard and/or a mouse. Every NAS should come with an HDMI port, especially since most SoCs support one without the need of additional expensive hardware.  "

ASUSTOR AS3202T Review

"  The ASUSTOR AS3202T's external design is yet another implementation of the company's latest network attached storage system design scheme, first seen in the ASUSTOR AS1002T I reviewed last year. It looks exactly the same as the AS3102T I reviewed a couple of months ago. The AS3202T is created in stark contrast with anything we have seen prior to the AS1002T, and I found the diamond plate finished plastic cover to be quite attractive. Even though the AS3202T is not meant to be a home entertainment device, it does not hurt to have something that looks good in the living room.  "

Asustor AS3204T NAS review

"  Join us as we review the Asustor AS3204T NAS. The 4-bay NAS server was designed to be extremely price competitive with a low price, yet offering serious performance as Asustor embedded an Intel Celeron 1.60 GHz Quad-Core Processor with turbo to 2.24 GHz. Combined with 2 GB of system memory and the latest Asustor management software and app suite this product is bound to impress. The AS3204T is not only a fast file server, it's also loaded with applications and features as well. Heck you can even connect it towards your HDTV and run KODI from it.  "
