Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler Review

The PH-TC14PE is a twin tower, twin fan, 140mm cooler with five 8mm heatpipes and uses aerospace technology. Phanteks is using two patented coatings on the cooler. A Physical Antioxidant Thermal Shield, or P.A.T.S, increases the cooling performance and reliability while deflecting heat from other sources. The other is a Cold Plasma Spaying Coating Technology. or C.P.S.C, is a brand new technologic forming deposit that displaces heat onto corresponding metals at a quicker rate. With this technology, the Phanteks PH-TC14PE enhances thermal conductivity on the soldered surfaces of the heat-pipes through the copper deposits. "

Phanteks PH-TC14PE Premier CPU Cooler Review

Most people have heard the term “OEM” when referring to parts and manufacturing, but very few realize what it actually means. “OEM” stands for “original equipment manufacturer”. Sounds simple, right? Well, it throws most people. For example, my laptop bears the name of a major manufacturer and has a 15.6” display. Most people naturally assume that the display was produced by said major manufacturer, but that is not always the case. Doing a quick check in Device Manager, my monitor shows LG as the manufacturer, and LG is certainly not the manufacturer of the laptop. And the motherboard? It’s a Wistron, again not the manufacturer. These companies are the OEM of the parts (and sometimes whole) for the said piece. "

Phanteks PH-TC14PE Review

There has been a lot of chatter on the web over the past few weeks about a new company called Phanteks, lots of rumours about the new cooler they have released being a contender for the best cooler crown have been getting thrown around but we obviously needed to give it the OC3D heat sink torture treatment before we were willing to make any statements! With summer almost behind us as always we will see many new products introduced into the market from just about every company in the world in order to make it in time for the Christmas shopping spree we are all used to. What is really rare however is to see new companies emerge just after the summer period and today on our test bench we have a product by one such company called Phanteks. The product in hand is called the PH-TC14PE and as you can see from the above image it's a very large sandwich type CPU Cooler. "

Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler Review

"It's not often that we see a completely new manufacturer enter the PC-market, but this time this is the case, as we take part in Phanteks' world premiere in CPU-cooling. The manufacturer sent us samples of their new CPU-coolers and with no earlier experience of the brand it's even more exciting than usual to find out how the newcomers perform. "

Phanteks PH-TC14PE Dual Tower CPU Cooler  Score: More about Printer Friendly Send to a Friend Save as PDF Read More...

Phanteks PH-TC14PE Dual Tower CPU Cooler Review

The PH-TC14PE features a unique design in so many ways. It is one of the few coolers that has been designed to pack the conduction might of 5 double ended 8mm copper heatpipes departing the copper base for a dual tower aluminium fin array. That is some extreme conduction and heat extraction muscle for a single CPU cooler. The unique features don’t stop there though. Phanteks have their own patented designs for helping them to avoid unintentional nose-dives in cooling performance. P.A.T.S (Physical Anti-oxidant Thermal Shield) which has been successfully proven in the aviation industry and C.P.S.C (Cold Plasma Spraying Coating) technology are just some of the potentially useful and truly unique features designed to improve the cooling performance and thermal conductivity of the PH-TC14PE. Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler Review

" Computex is a time for companies to divulge their latest products to the world, however weird and wonderful these might be. Most of the time, these are merely working progress of innovative concepts and thus never end up in the market. But while many focus their attentions on established marquees, many new companies go unnoticed, Phanteks being one of them. This is mostly likely down to the fact that Phanteks have only revealed their entry into the CPU cooling market publically today, shrouding themselves in secrecy as they designed a cooler to rule them all. Phanteks today are not only unveiling their brand to the world but also their latest cooler, the PH-TC14PE. "
