" The latest RevoDrive Hybrid by OCZ is basically an 2.5" 1TB 5400RPM SATA II HDD mounted on a 128GB (100GB available) PCI-E 4x SSD (most likely a RevoDrive3) which in turn makes use of the same Dataplex software used by the OCZ Synapse series of SSDs again by OCZ which we also reviewed a while back. For the ones that missed on our Synapse review the Dataplex software uses intelligent caching algorithms to determine the data more frequently used (hot) and in turn caches that data to the SSD (for blazing fast speeds) whereas the not so frequently used data (cold) remain on the slower yet larger in capacity HDD. Now having already tested the Synapse 64GB SSD we know that the software actually works, so what we are more eager to see is just what you can expect in terms of speed. "
